About Us

Sisters Anna and Kelly grew up in the embrace of the rugged, beautiful Alaskan terrain, spending their winters shoveling snow and snow machining and their summers fishing and soaking up the midnight sun. It was easy to love a childhood filled with abundant wildlife, tart berries, and endless tundra, beaches, and woods. Even after growing up, the richness and rawness of Alaska’s grandeur remained a guiding force in each of their lives. This is the inspiration behind Arctic Haven Studio: care and cultivation of what is beautiful and rare.

Anna Brose | Artist & Social Media

A lover of all things natural and wild, Anna earned a degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology after spending a childhood identifying animals, exploring the woods, and reading every book she could find. Her artform developed over the years, and while she enjoys several different mediums, papercraft has been a special way for her to imbue her work with the detail and color her subjects warrant. Growing up hunting and fishing, she learned the importance of respecting wildlife and the value of sustainability and appreciation for the natural world around us. From investigating tracks of snowshoe hares as a young girl to studying elk habitat use as a graduate student today, she continues to pursue a life immersed in the outdoors. Her hope for Arctic Haven Studio is that her art would invite others into the amazing Alaskan world that she knows and loves while reminding them of their own experiences outdoors and with others.

Favorite Alaskan Activities: Snowshoeing, hunting, backcountry camping, and flying

Kelly Pahlau | Business Manager

Always the first one to ask about snacks on a day trip out in the woods or on the water, Kelly loved growing up in the Alaskan wilderness. After a childhood of berry picking and subsistence fishing, Kelly earned a degree in Business Administration in Colorado and then returned to Alaska. Though her job of procurement for the State of Alaska keeps her busy in the office, her off-hours are spent in the snow and sun, taking time off each fall for hunting. Like her sister, she grew up with an innate respect for the aggressive beauty of Alaska and the wildlife within. Her hope for Arctic Haven Studio is to propagate the life lessons and lasting memories that come from time in the outdoors, both in solitude and in company.
